In the latest display of America East's and its member institutions' continued commitment to prioritizing and celebrating diversity and inclusion, each of the conference's #AEHoops programs will host #SpreadRespect nights throughout February.
America East has conducted #SpreadRespect nights since 2014 after becoming the first Division I Conference to partner with the organization in 2012. Since then, the conference has helped further You Can Play's mission by sponsoring a speaker series and locker-room campaigns on its members' campuses in addition to You Can Play nights and creating videos to educate the general public.
UNH has a 27-47 lifetime record against Hartford, which has won each of the last six meetings. Prior to this current win streak by the Hawks, UNH won six straight spanning the 2014-15 to 2016-17 seasons. And before that, Hartford won five in a row.
New Hampshire is No. 2 in the nation (350 teams, through Feb. 17) in defensive rebounds per game (30.17) and fourth in total rebounds per game (41.79). Also of note, UNH is in the top 11 percent in the nation in field goal percentage defense.
New Hampshire has an 11-13 overall record that includes 8-2 at home, 3-11 on the road and 4-7 in America East; that includes 3-2 in conference home games.
UNH's 11 wins more than doubles last year's season total (five).
After a stretch of 13 consecutive games alternating wins and losses (Nov. 16-Jan. 11), the Wildcats' wins and losses were in pairs the next six games with two losses, two wins and two losses (Jan. 11-Feb. 1).
The 'Cats went 0-2 last week with road losses to Vermont (74-50) and UMBC (65-59).
New Hampshire's longest win streak of the season is two games (twice; most recently Jan. 18 & 25). UNH's longest losing streak is also two games (four times; most recent Feb. 12 & Feb. 15).
The 'Cats have an 8-4 record following a loss. At the other end of the spectrum, the 'Cats are 2-9 following a win.
UNH is led by 15th-year head coach Bill Herrion; his 183 wins at the helm ranks second in program history to Gerry Friel's 185.
