Annual Valentine Invite Last Step Before Conference Meet

‘Cats send a handful of athletes to BU on Friday.
DURHAM, N.H. – With one weekend remaining before the America East Indoor Championship meet, the University of New Hampshire women's track & field will send athletes down to Boston University's Track & Tennis center, the site of this year's America East meet, for the annual David Hemery Valentine Invitational this Friday, February 14.
New Hampshire will look for more big performances from throwers Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) and Alyssa Colbert (Smithfield, R.I.), both of whom started off the season strong and have set personal bests in the weight throw in recent weeks.
In the pole vault, the duo of Danielle Heine (Waverly, Pa.) and Jordan Hoffman (North Chelmsford, Mass.) look to continue their success in the event, with Heine owning the best Vault by a Wildcat this season at 11'5.75", and Hoffman leading the Wildcats in the event last weekend with a personal best of 10'11.75"
Multi-eventers Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) and Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) will take part in the long jump, after both competed last weekend at the URI Coaches Tribute Meet. Tudisco will also compete in the hurdles.
In the middle distance, UNH sends a full squad down for one more run on the BU track before the championship meet; a group consisting of Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.), Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.), Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.), Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.), Madeline Quigley (Rowley, Mass.) and Eve Glasergreen (Clinton, N.J.) will take on a talented field in the mile run, and the duo of Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.) and Heather Linscott (Hingham, Mass.) will take on the 1000-meter run.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Wildcats were led at the URI Coaches Tribute Meet by senior Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) who had UNH's best finish of the afternoon, taking first place in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:24.39. It was her best time as a Wildcat in that event. Also placing top five in the 3000m was sophomore Cassie Shea (Concord, N.H.) taking runner-up to Danis in 10:34.65.
Another top-two finish for UNH in the meet was sophomore Sarah Williams (Dover, N.H.) taking second in the weight throw. Her best throw went 54'3.25", just over an inch shy of her personal best set last weekend at New England's.
Three Wildcats finished in the top five in the 1000m, all nothcing new career-bests in the event: leading the way was senior Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.) in 2nd with a time of 2:58.31. In fourth was sophomore Heather Linscott (Hingham, Mass.) with a time of 3:03.03, and in fifth was freshman Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.), posting her first collegiate 1000m time of 3:04.36.
