Danis, Heine Lead ‘Cats at Valentine Invitational

BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire women's track team sent athletes down to the Boston University Track & Tennis Center on Friday, February 14 for one last big meet before the America East Conference Championships.
The Wildcats were led by senior Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) who set a new career-best in the 3000-meter run, winning her section with a time of 9:49.74. It beat her previous career best, a time of 9:50.94 before her time at UNH. She was joined in that same section by junior Caroline Mahoney (Bedford, N.H.) who finished eighth with a new personal best time of 10:07.8. Mahoney's time was good for 35th overall.
Another top-10 finish for UNH came from freshman pole-vaulter Danielle Heine (Waverly, Pa.); she took ninth overall with her best vault reaching 11'6.25", a new career-best in her debut season.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats will return to the BU Track & Tennis Center next Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22, for the America East Indoor Championships.

- Sophomore Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) took 16th in the long jump with a distance of 17'11"; she was joined by senior Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.) who took 24th with a distance of 17'5.25".
- Tudisco also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, taking 23rd overall with a time of 9.44 seconds.
- In the 1000m, a pair of third place finishes came in two sections for the Wildcats; sophomore Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.) took 3rd in her section, 19th overall with a new personal best time of 2:55.17. In another section, sophomore Heather Linscott (Hingham, Mass.) also took third, with a time of 2:59.12. Her time was also a career-best, and good for 36th overall.
- In the weight throw, senior Alyssa Colbert (Smithfield, R.I.) took 33rd overall with a distance of 47'2.50".
- Senior Elise Renahan (Atkinson, N.H.) won her section of the 500m dash, finishing in 1:18.68, good for 33rd overall. In another section, sophomore Sarah Fudger (South Hadley, Mass.) took second with a new personal best time of 1:19.37. Her time placed her 40th in the final standings.
- Six Wildcats took on the indoor mile on Friday, led by fifth-year Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) with a time of 4:48.93, finishing eighth in her section, 36th overall.
- Sophomore Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.) took second in her section, finishing in 4:55.52, good for 57th overall.
- Senior Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.) set a new personal best as she won her section with a time of 4:57.34, placing her 59th overall.
- Grad-transfer Eve Glasergreen (Clinton, N.J.) took 2nd in her section with her best time in a Wildcat uniform, 4:58.64, taking 67th overall.
- Senior Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) took eighth in her section, 74th overall with a time of 4:59.01.
- Senior Madeline Quigley (Rowely, Mass.) finished in 5:12.99, 13th in her section and 153rd overall.
- In the 800m, senior Brianne Moss (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took 3rd in her section with a time of 2:17.89. She was joined by freshman Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.) who set a new personal best time of 2:19.97. Moss' time put her at 108th overall, Archer's was good for 134th.
