‘Cats Return Home, Host Hawks at 1 P.M. (Sun., ESPN+)

UNH back in Lundholm for the first time since early December.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team returns home to Lundholm Gymnasium for its first home game since December 5, as the Wildcats host the Hartford Hawks this Sunday, January 5 at 1 P.M.
Both teams started the conference schedule 0-1; a UNH comeback fell just short at UMass Lowell, as the Wildcats fell to the River Hawks 58-53, while the Hartford Hawks battled Maine in a shootout, falling by a score of 87-73.
Sunday's game and all other America East contests will be broadcast on the ESPN digital family of networks, with Sunday's contest appearing on ESPN+.
The Wildcats take a short one-game road trip before returning home once again to host the Stony Brook Seawolves next Saturday, January 11 at 1 P.M. in Lundholm Gymnasium. For tickets to all remaining UNH women's basketball home games, visit UNHWildcats.com/tickets or call (603)862-4000.
LAST TIME OUT:
- Senior Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) was quiet in the first half but rallied back in the final two quarters to lead the Wildcats with 13 points, along with 10 rebounds for her first double-double since November. Storey went 6-for-8 from the free throw line and made her lone three-point try. Storey was also tied for the team-lead in assists (3).
- Fellow senior Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) also had a team-high 13 points, along with four boards and a team-high three steals. Soucy made two big three pointers in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats attempted a late rally.
- Redshirt-freshman Faith Bonett (Moorestown, N.J.) notched her first career start in the contest, and had a career day with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and drew a team-high six fouls in the contest, two of which came in key situations late in the contest to keep UML off the scoreboard.
ABOUT HARTFORD
- The Hawks (West Hartford, Conn.) are seeking their first win of the 2019-20 campaign.
- Hartford, which averages 49.1 points per game, tallied 73 points at Maine in both teams' first America East conference game of the season.
- The season series is almost even, with UNH leading slightly 36-35. Hartford has won the last two meetings in the series.
- The Hawks are amidst a two-game conference road trip to start the America East schedule. Earlier this season they embarked on a longer road streak, playing five straight games on the road from November 17 to December 2.
