DURHAM, N.H. – Eight members of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team will be attending National Hockey League Development Camps this summer: senior Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.); juniors Max Gildon (Plano, Texas), Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) and Benton Maass (Elk River, Minn.); and sophomores Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, British Columbia), Ty Taylor (Richmond, British Columbia), Will MacKinnon (Plymouth, Mich.) and Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.).
The development camps feature top prospects who will participate in team meetings, off-ice testing, on-ice sessions and scrimmages.
Season tickets are on sale now for the 2019-20 UNH men's hockey season. Who: Anthony Wyse & Max Gildon Team: Florida Panthers Where: Florida Panther IceDen (Coral Springs, Fla.) Dates: June 27-30, 2019 Anthony Wyse
This past season, Wyse earned the Rod Langway Best Defenseman Award for the second year in a row, recording 51 blocks and seven points off one goal and six assists. Last year, he attended the Nashville Predators' development camp. Max Gildon
Gildon was drafted in the third round (66th overall pick) of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Panthers. Last season, he skated in 31 games and posted six goals and 15 assists for a total of 21 points. This will be his third camp with the Panthers. Who: Mike Robinson Team: San Jose Sharks Where: Solar4America Ice (San Jose, Calif.) Date: June 24-28, 2019 Mike Robinson
Robinson was drafted in the third round (86th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Sharks. He had a career-high 822 saves last season, including 14 games with 30 or more saves. This will be his fourth camp with the Sharks.
Who: Benton Maass Team: Washington Capitals Where: Medstar Capitals Iceplex (Arlington, Va.) Dates: June 25-29, 2019 Benton Maass
Maass was drafted in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Capitals. He led the team in blocks last season with 56 and recorded one goal and five assists for six points. This will be his third camp with the Capitals.
Who: Angus Crookshank Team: Ottawa Senators Where: Canadian Tire Center (Ottawa, Ontario) Dates: June 25-28, 2019 Angus Crookshank
Crookshank was drafted in the fifth round (126th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Senators. He skated in all 36 games last season and placed second on the team in points with 23 off of 10 goals and 13 assists. This will be his second camp with the Senators.
Who: Ty Taylor Team: Tampa Bay Lightning Where: Ice Sports Forum (Brandon, Fla.) Dates: June 25-29, 2019 Ty Taylor
Taylor was drafted in the seventh round (214th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Lightning. He made seven starts out of eight games played last season and recorded 136 saves. This will be his second camp with the Lightning.
Who: Will MacKinnon Team: Philadelphia Flyers Where: Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone (Voorhees, N.J.) Dates: June 25-29, 2019 Will MacKinnon
MacKinnon played in 34 games this past season, scoring one goal and posting seven assists for eight points. Last year, he attended the Pittsburgh Penguins' camp.
Who: Jackson Pierson Team: Winnipeg Jets Where: Bell MTS Iceplex (Winnipeg, Manitoba) Dates: June 24-28, 2019 Jackson Pierson
Pierson skated in 32 games and posted 19 points last season with eight goals and 11 assists. This will be his first camp with the Jets.
In July, Associate Head Coach Glenn Stewart will coach at the New Jersey Devils development camp.
