Wildcats Win Back to Back DMR Championship

UNH finishes day one with second straight DMR championship.
BOSTON - Following day one of the America East Championships, the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team sits in sixth place, with a score of 17 points. With several events coming up Saturday, the Wildcats will look to pick up points along the way in middle distance.
Following a men's distance-medley relay win in, the women also took a distance-medley relay championship to sweep the event for UNH for the first time since 2016. Two returning runners repeated as DMR champions, Michaella Conery and Emileigh Glode. They were joined this year by Danielle Gajewski (Danville, N.H.), and Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.). The team ran a combined time of 11 minutes, 33.57 seconds, as Murdock just edged out the UMass Lowell runner by under half a second.
Jessica Hackett (Dover, N.H.) placed fourth in the 500 meter dash preliminaries with a new career high, with a time of 1:16.07, sending her to Saturday's finals. Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) additionally set a new career high in the 5,000 meter run placing fourth with a time of 17:07.57.

- Sara Williams (Dover, N.H.) scored eighth in the weight throw, and was the third Wildcat of the day to set a career high, throwing a distance of 50 feet, 10.75 inches.
- In the Pentathlon, Saige TuDisco (Haverhill, Mass.) came in eighth in the 800-meter dash, running it in 2:35.27.
- Tudisco, along with Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.), placed 4th in the high jump pentathlon, jumping a height of 5'3" each. The pair also placed in the long jump; Mosongo came in second with a distance of 17'3.25", while Tudisco placed eighth, at a distance of 16'7.75".
- Mosongo won the pentathlon shot put, throwing a distance of 34'7.75".
- Mosongo would finish eighth overall in the pentathlon final standings, scoring for the Wildcats with 3105 points.
