Sutherlin Nets 20 Points in 84-70 Loss at Boston U.

BOSTON – Sean Sutherlin (New Brighton, Minn.) recorded 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was upended by Boston University, 84-70, at Case Gym on Saturday.
Sutherlin netted his career-high 20 points by making 7 of 12 field goal attempts and going 6 of 8 from the foul line. Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) scored 19 points on the strength of 5 of 6 shooting from 3-point range. In his collegiate debut, Blondeau Tchoukuiengo (Montreal, Quebec) netted 13 points on perfect shooting from the floor (4 of 4, including a pair of 3's) and the foul line (3-for-3).
BU was led by Max Mahoney and Javante McCoy with 20 points apiece, followed by Walter Whyte with 19.
UNH and BU are both 2-2.

•Trailing 20-12, UNH rallied to tie the score (at 6:19) on a layup by Tchoukuiengo and consecutive 3-balls by Martinez and Tchoukuiegno.
•Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) connected on a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats a 32-30 lead with 1:52 remaining in the first half; it was UNH's first lead since 3-0 in the opening minute.
•BU closed the half on a 6-0 run to take a 36-32 lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
•The Terriers opened the second half on an 8-1 run to extend the lead to double digits, 44-33, at 17:34.
•BU pushed the margin to 18 points, 56-38, at 13:52.
•UNH inched within 60-48 on a 3-pointer by Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) at 11:18.
•The home team scored five quick points to extend the advantage to 65-48.
