BOSTON – Sean Sutherlin (New Brighton, Minn.) recorded 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was upended by Boston University, 84-70, at Case Gym on Saturday.

Sutherlin netted his career-high 20 points by making 7 of 12 field goal attempts and going 6 of 8 from the foul line. Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) scored 19 points on the strength of 5 of 6 shooting from 3-point range. In his collegiate debut, Blondeau Tchoukuiengo (Montreal, Quebec) netted 13 points on perfect shooting from the floor (4 of 4, including a pair of 3's) and the foul line (3-for-3).

BU was led by Max Mahoney and Javante McCoy with 20 points apiece, followed by Walter Whyte with 19.

UNH and BU are both 2-2.

FIRST HALF
•Trailing 20-12, UNH rallied to tie the score (at 6:19) on a layup by Tchoukuiengo and consecutive 3-balls by Martinez and Tchoukuiegno.
•Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) connected on a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats a 32-30 lead with 1:52 remaining in the first half; it was UNH's first lead since 3-0 in the opening minute.
•BU closed the half on a 6-0 run to take a 36-32 lead into halftime.

SECOND HALF
•The Terriers opened the second half on an 8-1 run to extend the lead to double digits, 44-33, at 17:34.
•BU pushed the margin to 18 points, 56-38, at 13:52.
•UNH inched within 60-48 on a 3-pointer by Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) at 11:18.
•The home team scored five quick points to extend the advantage to 65-48.
•The 'Cats responded with a 12-4 spurt fueled by five points from Martinez, four by Sutherlin and three by Tchoukuiegno.
•A fastbreak layup by Sutherlin lifted UNH within eight points, 76-68, with 3:09 remaining.
•The Wildcats did not score on their next two possessions, however, and that allowed BU to build an 82-68 lead with 1:31 on the clock.

UNH NOTEBOOK
•Sutherlin matched his career high of six assists established one week earlier vs. Holy Cross.
•Through four games, Suthlerin is averaging 14.8 ppg and 8.0 rpg, both of which rank second on the team, as well as 3.5 apg. He has made 60.5% of his field goal attempts.
•Martinez's five 3's marked a career high. He has made 8 of 12 3-pointers this season.
•In his first start of the season, Luke Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) tallied six points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes.
•UNH is 2-0 at home and 0-2 on the road.

•BU outscored UNH by a 50-28 margin in the paint. The Terriers also had the edge in second-chance points (11-7), points off turnovers (19-6) and fast break points (8-4).
