The Wildcats are on a roll ahead of this weekend’s championship meet.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team heads up to Albany, N.Y. this weekend for the 2019 America East Cross Country Championship meet. After a strong season with several high big-race finishes, and a New England Championship under their belt, the Wildcats look to make an impact at this year's conference meet.
The Wildcats will continue to look to their seasoned upperclassmen to lead the way as they have all year; fifth-year senior Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.), senior Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.), and defending America East Performer of the Week, junior Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) lead the way into a tough competitive field this weekend.

RANKED IN THE REGION
The women's cross country team entered the USTFCCCA Northeast Region top-15 earlier this season; after a strong finish at the Coast to Coast Invitational the 'Cats moved up to #11 in the region; their highest position this season was #7 after their finish in the Paul Short Run gold 6k. They currently sit at #8 in the region.
FROM THE COACH:
"We're excited about this meet; every year it's a very exciting and competitive meet. Albany's hosting, and is a competitive and strong team to look out for, Stony Brook is annually one of the best teams in the conference and they're having a good year, and certainly Vermont is a strong team as well, we're excited about the challenge and the opportunity to go out there and run our best and see where that gets us. We've had a good season, and we've trained hard and raced well. Looking forward to the opportunity to race at the conference meet."
