Murdock Leads ‘Cats in Paul Short Run

Wildcats take ninth overall in the team standings of the College Gold 6k.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – University of New Hampshire fifth-year senior Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) was the top Wildcat finisher at this year's Paul Short Run college gold 6k race.
Murdock set a new personal best in the 6k with her time of 20:20.6, finishing the race 15th overall. Her old personal best in the event came in her freshman season, with a time of 21:42.9.
The race was won overall by Eilish Flanagan of Adams State; Queens University took first in the team score with a total of 127; UNH was ninth with a score of 314.

The Wildcats head back to Franklin Park for the 2019 New England Championships on Saturday, October 12.

• Junior transfer Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) was the second Wildcat across the finish line, taking 30th overall with a new personal best time of 20:35.5.
• Senior Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) took 43rd with a time of 20:51.6, beating her old personal best in the 6k by two minutes.
• Finishing 75th was junior Caroline Mahoney (Bedford, N.H.) with a new personal best time of 21:04.7.
• Sophomore Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.) posted her first collegiate 6k time of 21:53.8, finishing 162nd.
• Junior Cayla Barretto (Woburn, Mass.) finished 195th with a new personal best time of 22:19.7.
• Rounding out the scoring 'Cats in the gold race was senior Morgan Sansing (Chester, N.H.) with a new personal best time of 22:36.8, finishing 211th.
• In the women's open 6k, sophomore Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.) took 15th with her first 6k time of 21:37.8.
