Friends of UNH Hockey Holds 30th Annual Golf Tournament

DURHAM, N.H. - Monday, Aug. 6, was an exciting day for the UNH men's hockey program as alumni and friends gathered at the Portsmouth Country Club and at the Arnold Palmer-designed Golf Club of New England for the 30th Annual Friends of UNH Hockey Golf Tournament. There were 140 golfers who took to the courses, followed by a luncheon. The Golf Tournament raised over $40,000 to support the men's hockey program.
"There are so many elements to this event that are perfect," said head coach Mike Souza. "Whether it is getting our alums back together and seeing the smiles on their faces, to seeing new people that are invested in the program interacting with our alums. This specific event has raised a significant amount of money for our program over the years. Our alums and friends have always been incredibly generous with their time and money. There are so many people that bleed blue and white and love our program. And this a great opportunity for us to all get together."
The winning foursome at the Golf Club of New England consisted of Rob Watson, Keith Lowell, Mike Gosselin and Mike Wilson, while Brian Gould, Cam Gould, Joe Piwowarski and Steve Piwowarski placed first at the Portsmouth Country Club. Then Watson, Lowell, Gosselin and Wilson earned the overall title when they won a one-hole playoff.
