Nine Wildcats To Attend NHL Development Camps

DURHAM, N.H. - Nine members of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team will be attending National Hockey League Development Camps this summer: senior Marcus Vela (Burnaby, British Columbia); junior Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.); sophomores Charlie Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.), Benton Maass (Elk River, Minn.), Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) and Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.); and freshmen Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, British Columbia), Ty Taylor (Richmond, British Columbia) and Will MacKinnon (Plymouth, Mich.).
These camps feature top prospects and include team meetings, off-ice testing, on-ice sessions and scrimmages.

Who: Anthony Wyse & Charlie Kelleher
Team: Nashville Predators
Where: Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, Tenn.)
Wyse received the Rod Langway Best Defenseman Award for the Wildcats last season. He recorded five goals and three assists for eight points.
Kelleher notched his first career goal against Colgate and finished the season with four goals and 15 assists for 19 points.
Who: Max Gildon
Team: Florida Panthers
Where: Panthers Ice Den (Coral Springs, Fla.)
Gildon was drafted in the third round (66th overall pick) of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Panthers. Last season for the Wildcats he recorded eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points as he led all Hockey East freshmen defensemen in goals and was tied in points.
Who: Benton Maass
Team: Washington Capitals
Where: Kettler Capitals Iceplex (Arlington, Va.)
Maass was drafted in the sixth round (182nd overall pick) of the 2017 NHL Draft by the Capitals. Last season for the Wildcats he recorded four goals and 13 assists for 17 points.
Who: Angus Crookshank
Team: Ottawa Senators
Where: Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa, Ontario)
Crookshank was drafted in the fifth round (126th overall pick) of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Senators. Last season for the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL he recorded 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points.
Who: Ty Taylor
Team: Tampa Bay Lightning
Where: Ice Sports Forum (Hillsborough County, Fla.)
Taylor was drafted in the seventh round (214th overall pick) of the 2018 NHL Draft by the Lightning. Last season for the Vernon Vipers he was named the BCHL Goaltender of the Year.
Who: Will MacKinnon
Team: Pittsburgh Penguins
Where: UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex (Cranberry Township, Pa.)
MacKinnon was the assistant captain of the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL last season. He recorded two goals and eight assists for 10 total points.
Who: Marcus Vela & Mike Robinson
Team: San Jose Sharks
Where: Solar4America Ice at San Jose
Vela was drafted in the seventh round (190th overall pick) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Sharks. Last season for the Wildcats he recorded seven goals and eight assists for 15 points.
Robinson was drafted in the third round (86th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Sharks. He had a career high 33 saves at UConn on January 27 of last season.
