Jordan Nets 14 in 65-56 Loss at Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) led three UNH double-digit scorers with 14 points but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 65-56 by the University of Hartford in Wednesday night's America East matchup at Chase Arena.
Jordan, who tied his career high of four 3-pointers, also recorded three assists and three rebounds. Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) finished with 12 points, four rebounds and two assists while Jacoby Armstrong (Dallas, Texas) compiled 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block.
Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) recorded his 20th double-digit rebound effort of the season with 11 boards. He also scored seven points.
J.R. Lynch led Hartford's quartet of double-figure scorers with 17 points. He was followed by John Carroll (13 points), Jason Dunne (12) and Hassan Attia (10). Carroll corralled a team-high nine rebounds.
UNH is now 6-9 in America East and 10-19 overall. Hartford completed the season sweep of the Wildcats to improve to 17-11, 10-4.

THE DIFFERENCE
- UNH tied the score, 56-56, on a pair of Keon Burns (Beaverton, Ore.) free throws at 2:48, but the Wildcats went 0–for-5 from the floor with one turnover the rest of the way as Hartford closed the game on a 9-0 run.
GAME RECAP
- A three-point play and a trio of 3-pointers gave Hartford an early 12-2 lead at 17:30.
- Trailing 19-13, UNH stormed back to take a 26-19 lead with a 13-0 run spanning almost six minutes.
- Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) buried a 3-pointer from the right wing in transition at 10:33 to ignite the rally. The run continued with a dunk and free throw by Armstrong to complete the three-point play, followed by Jordan's long-ball that gave UNH its first lead of the game, 22-19, at 8:14.
- Out of the media timeout, Leissner hit back-to-back baskets to extend the advantage to 26-19 at 6:36.
- Dunne hit three foul shots at 5:40 to end the Wildcats' run and spark Hartford's 12-4 spurt that gave the Hawks a 31-30 lead with 45 seconds on the clock.
- Evan Horn (Lebanon, Pa.) hit both ends of the 1-and-1 to put UNH back in front, 32-31, heading into halftime.
- Leissner's dunk tied the score at 39 heading into the first media timeout of the second half at 15:48, but the Hawks scored the next five points.
- Jordan's 3-pointer from the top of the key and fastbreak layup lifted the 'Cats within 50-49 at 7:05.
- Dunne and Lynch sandwiched 3-pointers around Leissner's driving layup to extend Hartford's lead to 56-51 at 5:00.
- Camara converted a third-chance opportunity under the basket and, one minute later, hit a foul shot to narrow the margin to 56-54 at 3:09.
- Burns tied the game, but Lynch drilled a 3-pointer at 1:50 and made a layup at 1:09 to push the Hawks' lead to 61-56.
- Hartford went 3-for-6 from the foul line in the last minute, but it was enough to pull away for the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Hartford outscored UNH 34-24 in the second half by limiting the Wildcats to 25.0% shooting from the floor (9-36), including 18.8% on 3-pointers (3-16).
- New Hampshire won the battle of the boards, 38-35, and committed fewer turnovers (8-9).
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Camara increased his school record for career rebounds to 997. He is No. 2 in career games played (120).
- Leissner increased his career points record to 1,923. He is No. 3 on the career games played list with 119.
- Armstrong is tied at No. 9 in career games played (115).
- On UNH's single-season lists, Camara climbed to No. 3 at 312.
- New Hampshire used its 15th different starting lineup of the season. Burns made his first start since his sophomore season with Jordan and Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) also in the backcourt, and Camara and Leissner in the frontcourt.
