Jackie MacMullan '82 Will Be Signing Her New Book at Sunday's Game
DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down a career-high nine rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 68-44 win over the University of New England on Thursday night in Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Wildcats play a second consecutive home game when they take on College of the Holy Cross on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Before Sunday's game, award-winning journalist Jackie MacMullan, a captain of the UNH basketball team in the 1981-82 season, will be signing copies of her latest book, "Basketball: A Love Story," in the lobby of Lundholm from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Wildcats improved to 2-7 for the season with Thursday night's win. They are 2-1 at home and have won their last two games in Lundholm.
The University of New England is 4-5 on the season.
Junior forward Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine) had 12 points and eight rebounds for UNH and junior guard Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) added 10 points and eight rebounds.

MacMullan will be signing in the lobby of Lundholm from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is donating $5 from the purchase of each book to the UNH women's basketball program.
Holy Cross has a 6-2 record.
UNH plays at Central Connecticut State on Sunday, Dec. 16.
The Wildcats play Dartmouth at home on Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. and close out the calendar year with a game against Princeton on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS
The 6-foot-2 Gogolin got her first start of the season and took full advantage of it. She scored two of UNH's first four baskets on layups and was on her way.
She made eight of her 12 field goals in the game and seven of her nine foul shots. She led the Wildcats to a 50-44 advantage in rebounds and a 36-12 edge in points in the paint.
Gogolin's previous highs were six points and three rebounds in the season-opening game at Minnesota.
She got the start in place of sophomore forward Maggie Ahearn (Marshfield, Mass.) who was out as she recovers from an injury. Sophomore starting guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) also missed the game while she recuperated.
Senior Alli Gribbin (Keller, Texas) started in place of Torres and had seven points and five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats got off to a fast start and ran off the first eight points of the game and owned a 22-2 lead after the first period.
They were up 44-18 at the half.
Gogolin had had six points in the first quarter, seven in the second. Storey had 10 points and led all players with seven rebounds at the half.
UNH increased its lead to 59-28 after three periods. Gogolin continued to pace the 'Cats with 17 points through three.
Gogolin had six more points in the fourth quarter to help close it out.
