Mike Robinson makes 32 saves

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior assistant captain Ara Nazarian (Boxford, Mass.) and senior captain Marcus Vela (Burnaby, British Columbia) each scored for the Wildcats, and sophomore goalie Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 32 saves as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team tied UMass Lowell, 2-2, on Friday night at the Tsongas Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Wildcats opened up the scoring at 11:39 of the first period when junior Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.) connected with Nazarian who sent the puck into the net on the upper stick side. Freshman Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) also tallied an assist on the goal.
UNH increased its lead to 2-0 with 37 seconds left in the first period after sophomore Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) sent a pass from behind the net to Vela who one-timed it from the slot to the upper glove side of the net.
After the end of the first period Robinson had five saves while Tyler Wall posted three. UMass Lowell went 0-2 on the power play.
A scoreless second period saw Robinson make 15 saves to keep UMass Lowell off the scoreboard. UNH went 0-1 on the power play and UML went 0-3.
With 2:13 remaining in the third period the River Hawks got on the board as Ryan Lohin blasted a shot to the upper glove side of the net.

Just 27 seconds later, Lohin answered with another goal equalizing the score 2-2 to bring the game into overtime.
Neither the Wildcats or the River Hawks were able to score the game winner in overtime leaving the final score 2-2.
