HOW IT HAPPENED:
- BU tallied the first goal just 5:55 into the first period on a 4-on-3 power play, scored by Chad Krys.
- After a Terrier penalty for tripping, the Wildcats answered back with a power-play goal of their own at 8:47 into the period. Nazarian caught the rebound from sophomore Max Gildon (Plano, Texas). Kelleher also posted an assist on the goal.
- Just under two minutes later Boston University retook a one-goal lead with another power-play goal, this time from Bowers.
- As a UNH penalty kill expired, the Wildcats got a two-on-one after a turnover to tie the game. Pierson intercepted the puck in the defensive zone and caught the lone BU skater off-guard and charged the offensive zone with Kelleher. Pierson passed to Kelleher in the neutral zone, Kelleher charged the net, and then passed back to Pierson at the last second and beat Oettinger on his stick side with a shot from just outside the crease.
- Neither team tallied a goal in the third period and the game was sent to overtime. BU led in shots 7-4 in the period.
- In overtime, the Wildcats got a power play opportunity, but the Terriers held off the attack and cleared the puck to the neutral zone, and Bowers took the loose puck and scored a short-handed goal on the one-on-one opportunity.
