DURHAM, N.H. – Senior forward Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla) scored the lone goal for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Vermont, 2-1, on Saturday evening in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. UNH split this weekend's home series against UVM winning 4-2 on Friday evening.

Senior goalie Kyle Chauvette (Goffstown, N.H.) recorded 23 saves for UNH.

The Wildcats fall to 3-4-0 (1-2-0 Hockey East), while the Catamounts move to 3-3-0 (1-1-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

UVM opened the scoring with just 27.6 seconds remaining in the second period when Jax Wismer fired a shot glove side top shelf.
UNH found the back of the net at the 9:32 mark of the third period when Winters knocked in a loose puck, tying the game at 1-1. Freshman defenseman Conner de Haro (Raleigh, N.C.) recorded his first collegiate point with an assist on the goal. Junior defenseman Brendan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) also posted an assist.
The Catamounts responded at 13:50 when Jonah Aegerter rocketed a shot upper glover side to put the Catamounts back in the lead.
With only 55.7 seconds the 'Cats went on a power play and pulled the goalie but were unable to find the equalizer for the 2-1 final score.
