UNH Plays Stanford in a Nov. 1 America East quarterfinal (4 p.m. Eastern)
DURHAM, N.H. – Bloem van den Brekel (Eindhoven, Netherland) scored three goals and Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded two assists to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 5-1 non-conference win against intrastate rival Dartmouth College.
UNH extended its win streak to three games to end the regular season at 6-11. And with UMass Lowell's 5-4 double overtime loss on Sunday, the Wildcats receive a berth into the America East Championships as the East Division's No. 4 seed. UNH will play Stanford University, the host and West Division top seed, in a Nov. 1 quarterfinal game at 4 p.m. Eastern.
The three goals and six points both marked career highs for van den Brekel, and the two assists were a personal best for Bossi. Finn Caron (Hampton, N.H.) and Bailey Fanikos (Lynnfield, Mass.) scored UNH's other two goals.
UNH goalkeeper Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) made five saves.
Gemma Bautista scored Dartmouth's goal and Hailey Valerio stopped seven shots, including six in the first half. Sara Falkson was credited with a defensive save. The Big Green is now 6-11.

GAME RECAP
- In the 12th minute, Bossi's shot from the middle of the circle was stopped by Valerio. Tori Palumbo (Ayer, Mass.) corralled the rebound on the left side and quickly fired a shot wide of the near post.
- New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead at 12:04. Bossi's centering pass from the right side was settled by Fanikos, who drove a low reverse-stick shot into the cage.
- van den Brekel scored goals 88 seconds apart – both on penalty corners – to quickly extend the advantage to 3-0.
- On a short corner, the initial shot by Erin McNamara (Sanbornton, N.H.) beat Valerio but Falkson was in position on the right side to prevent the goal. van den Brekel pulled in the rebound and scored on a rising shot from the middle of the circle at 20:51.
- On the next corner, Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) inserted the ball to the top of the circle. Bossi executed the stick-stop and pushed the ball to the left side, where van den Brekel blasted a low shot through traffic into the cage.
- Dartmouth converted an untimed corner at the end of the half into a goal to trim the deficit to 3-1. Jessica Valvano's low, hard shot from the top-left side toward the far post was redirected in by Bautista, who had her stick angled on the turf.
- UNH took a two-goal lead and 11-4 shot advantage into halftime.
- van den Brekel struck again 3:46 into the second half to reestablish a three-goal cushion of 4-1. Audino inserted a short corner to McNamara, who pushed the ball to the top of the circle for van den Brekel.
- The Wildcats converted another corner into a 5-1 lead at 58:29, when a series of passes moved the ball to the left wing and the shot by Isabelle Danahy (Chelsmford, Mass.) was tipped in by Caron, who was positioned at the right post.
