HAMILTON, N.Y. – Bobby McMann and Adam Dauda each scored for the Raiders, then junior Brendan van Riemsdyk (Middletown, N.J.) netted a goal for the Wildcats with just 1:02 left in the third period, but UNH was unable to find the equalizer as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Colgate, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Class of 1965 Arena. The Raiders win the two-game season opening series, 2-0-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colgate took a 1-0 lead at 11:29 of the first period when knocked in a rebound off a shot by Dauda.
- Freshman goalie Ty Taylor (Richmond, British Columbia) made nine saves, while UNH took eight shots. Each team went 0-1 on the power play.
- At 10:34 of the second period, Dauda gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead with a power play goal when he sent a rebound to the lower glove side of the net.
- UNH outshot Colgate by a 15-8 margin for the second period, while the Wildcats went 0-1 on the power play and the Raiders went 1-2.
- The Wildcats went with an empty net with 2:30 remaining in the third period.
- Then with just 1:02 left, van Riemsdyk buried the puck to the lower right corner of the net off a rebound. Senior captain Marcus Vela (Burnaby, British Columbia) and sophomore Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) each posted an assist on the goal.
- The Wildcats kept Taylor out of the net for the extra skater, but were unable to score the equalizer for the 2-1 final.

- UNH outshot Colgate by a 36-24 margin.
- Taylor tallied 22 saves as he made his collegiate debut in net, while Mitch Benson recorded 35 to earn the win.
- The Wildcats went 0-2 on the power play and the Raiders went 1-4.
