GAME RECAP
- van den Brekel corralled the thru-ball from Jessica Schmidt (Warrington, Pa.) just outside of the top of the circle, dribbled to the top-left and fired a reverse-stick shot inside the left post for a 1-0 lead at 6:43.
- The Wildcats converted extended pressure into a 2-0 lead at 31:50. Katie Audino carried the ball into the circle from the right wing and slipped the ball down to the right doorstep, where Taylor Scafidi (Waltham, Mass.) had a shot stopped by Swan. Audino collected the rebound on the right endline and sent the ball across the goalmouth; McNamara, positioned at the left post, redirected the ball into the cage.
- New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead into halftime with a 13-1 shot advantage and 3-0 edge in penalty corners.
- Despite being outshot by a significant margin, Hofstra pulled within one goal, 2-1, at 51:41. Madison Sauve controlled a high pass at midfield and sent the ball ahead to de Wolf, who was behind UNH's defenders. de Wolf advanced to the top of the circle and blasted a low shot past McAteer into the cage.
- The Wildcats reestablished a two-goal lead at 67:53 to secure the victory. Schmidt initiated the scoring sequence with an outlet pass to midfield for Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford, Mass.), who quickly advanced the ball ahead to Sliz. She corralled the pass outside the 25 and dribble to the top of the circle before striking a low, hard shot into the cage.
