BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior goalkeeper Kerigan Ross (Baltimore, Md.) made 10 saves but the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was defeated 4-0 by Indiana University on Friday afternoon at Deborah Tobias Field.

Ross made half her saves in the fourth quarter.

Celia Arroyo Cabezudo led Indiana's offense with two goals. Molly Stutte recorded a goal and an assist, and Agustina Gamonal scored a goal. Goalie Sadie Canelli was credited with one save.

UNH moves to 0-3 and Indiana is 1-2.

UP NEXT

UNH returns to action Sept. 6 (12pm) against Central Michigan University at IU.

The Wildcats' home opener is Sept. 20 (12pm) against Boston University.

FIRST QUARTER

IU recorded a 7-0 shot advantage, including five shots on goal, in the opening 15 minutes of the game.
Ross was tested early and turned aside a shot by Stutte 96 seconds into the game.

Arroyo Cabezudo gave the Hoosiers a 2-0 lead when she scored goals 2 minutes, 9 seconds apart at 10:29 and 12:38.

SECOND QUARTER

Indiana generated a 5-1 shot advantage in the second quarter.
Gamonal scored on the first shot of the second quarter at 19:40 to extend the lead to 3-0.
Kay Murphy (Wrentham, Mass.) sent a shot wide or the cage at 20:37.

Ross denied Karly Redman at 26:16 to keep the margin at three goals.

THIRD QUARTER

The home team had a 4-1 edge in shots during the third quarter.
Ross made her fifth save of the game when she turned away Arroyo Cabezudo in the 35^th minute.
IU generated a corner in the 39^th minute but the Wildcats' defense answered the challenge by blocking a pair of shots.

Becky Ward (Palmerstown North, New Zealand) fired a shot on goal at 38:56 but was denied by Canelli.

FOURTH QUARTER

IU continued to pressure early in the fourth quarter and Ross kept it close with two saves against Ines Garcia Pradoin the 49^th minute.
Ross stopped three more shots in the 52^nd minute to reach double digits in saves.

Stutte scored with 24 seconds on the clock to cap the scoring.
