The 4x1,500m Relay Group Smashes School Record at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The 4x1,500-meter relay group of Sarah Keiran (Rowley, Mass.), Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.), Danielle Gajewski (Danville, N.H.) and Elinor Purrier (Montgomery, Vt.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track & field team set a school record in the event at the 52nd Colonial Relays.
The foursome finished the race in 18 minutes, 19.46 seconds to secure first place in the event, 30 seconds ahead of second place. The previous school record was held by Laura Rose Donegan (Melbourne, Australia), Cassie Kruse (Hampshire, Ill.), Murdock and Purrier set back in 2016 (18:34.27).
Additionally, senior Jeannette Mara (Bedford, N.H.) and junior Rachel Morrison (Westwood, Mass.) competed in the high jump. Mara collected fifth overall in the event with a height of 5-feet, 7-inches to match her career-best mark. Morrison jumped to a height of 5-feet, 3 inches for 13th place in the meet.
Following the events, UNH was tied for eighth in the meet with 32 points, against 45 teams competing.
The women's team wrapped up the weekend with the relay finish this afternoon. A full list of times is below.
