Purrier Leads ’Cats into Outdoor Season at Colonial Relays, Maine Meet Moved to Sunday

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Elinor Purrier (Montgomery, Vt.) will lead the University of New Hampshire women's outdoor track & field team into its season-opening meet at the Colonial Relays at the College of William & Mary this weekend.
Sophomore Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) and junior Angelyn Masters (Bangor, Maine) will run in the 3000 on Thursday night, the opening night of the Relays.
Purrier is scheduled to run the 1500 on Friday night. The competition concludes Saturday.
Purrier finished second in the mile at the NCAA Championships at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, in her last outing. It was the best finish ever by a Wildcat in the NCAAs and earned Purrier another First-Team All America Award. Purrier has been honored as an all American in cross country and outdoor track as well.
The Wildcats are competing as a split squad this weekend and part of the team will head to Orono for a meet against the University of Maine and Bates College on Sunday.

Giese and Keiran had personal bests in the 3000 meter run to lead the Wildcats in an impressive field at the ECAC Championships at the Track & Tennis Center at Boston University on March 5 and 6.

- Juniors Jeannette Mara (Bedford, N.H.) and Rachel Morrison (Westwood, Mass.) in the high jump.
LAST TIME OUT

- Keiran was 14th in 9:46.96.
