Giese, Keiran Post PRs at ECACs, Purrier Eyes NCAAs

BOSTON – Seniors Alex Giese (Franklin, Mass.) and Sarah Keiran (Rowley, Mass.) had big days for the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team Sunday at the ECAC Championships at the Track & Tennis Center at Boston University.
The season concludes with the NCAA Championships this weekend at Texas A&M in College Station.
Junior All American Elinor Purrier (Montgomery, Vt.) will represent the Wildcats in the NCAAs. She will run the mile.
Giese and Keiran had personal best times in the 3000 meter run against a competitive field.
Giese tuned in a time of nine minutes, 43.96 seconds to finish 11th. Keiran's time was 9:46.96 and she was 14th in the race.
Sophomore Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) finished ninth in the mile in 4:59.12 on Sunday. She had qualified into the finals on Saturday.

- The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at Texas A&M.
- The Wildcats open the outdoor track & field season at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va., March 30-April 1.
- UNH will host meets on the Reggie Atkins Track & Field on Saturday, April 8 and Saturday, April 15.
- UNH will also host the America East outdoor track & field championships this spring on May 6 and 7.
WILDCAT NOTE
- Purrier finished third in the mile at the NCAA Championships last winter.
- She ran the second fastest collegiate mile in the country this year, a 4:29.44 in the Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games on Feb. 11.
- Purrier set a school and meet record in the 800 in a time of 2:04.02 at the America East championships.
