Pogue's Career Game Paces 'Cats to 21st Triumph

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) had an immense, career game to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 76-69 triumph over Binghamton on Sunday afternoon in Lundholm Gymnasium.
Pogue poured in a career-high 32 points for UNH's highest total of the season and added 17 rebounds, which matched her career high.
The Wildcats improved to 21-4 overall and upped their league-leading America East record to 11-1.
Senior guard Kristen Anderson (Greene, Maine) had 13 points and six assists and junior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) added 12 points.
Binghamton fell to 12-14 overall and 7-6 in the league.

The Wildcats play UMass Lowell at home in Lundholm Gymnasium on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3 for Senior Night.
This week, they hit the road for games at Maine on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. and Hartford, Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS
Pogue was on her game and led the way from the start. She had eight points and five rebounds in the first quarter and kept going from there.
She made 11 of her 19 field goal attempts in the game and nine of her 12 foul shots.
The double-double was her fifth of the season and 10th of her career.
Pogue set a new career mark in points with a three-pointer with 3:17 left in the third period. It was only her second trey of the season and her career.
She crushed her career high in points. Her previous best was 26 points in a 66-63 overtime win at Northeastern on Dec. 1 this season.
Her career mark in rebounds had come against Binghamton during her sophomore season.
The Wildcats made 26 of their 50 (52 percent) field goal attempts in the game and had 39 rebounds to Binghamton's 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) got the 'Cats going with their first two baskets and then Pogue took over.
UNH outrebounded Binghamton 9-3 in the first period and came out of it with a 15-14 lead.
The Wildcats pushed the advantage to 35-32 at the half.
They made 14 of their 27 field goals (51.9 percent) in the half and had 20 rebounds to Binghamton's 12.
UNH led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and was up 60-50 with one period to go.
The Bearcats got to within five points in the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats hung on for the win.
