GAME RECAP
- New Hampshire generated an 8-4 shot advantage in the first half.
- With 22 minutes remaining in the second half, Isabelle Danahy (Chelmsford, Mass.) fired a shot from the top of the circle that went under Benwood, ricocheted off a leg pad and rolled toward the open cage, but just left of the target.
- Ten minutes later, Bloem van den Brekel (Eindhoven, Netherlands) advanced to the top-left of the circle before striking a hard diagonal pass that Erin McNamara (Sanbornton, N.H.) redirected wide of the right post.
- Moments later, van den Brekel blasted a backhander from the same position that went through traffic and bounced wide of the right post.
- With 9:30 left in regulation, UVM's Jackie Gillen fired a low shot from the middle of the circle that forced Rudert to go down into a split to make the save.
- With two minutes on the clock, van den Brekel entered the top-right of the circle and her rising shot barely missed the stick of Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford, Mass.) and sailed wide of the left post.
- Vermont generated the first dangerous scoring chance 3:30 into overtime. Off a penalty corner, Olivia Hurd struck a low, hard shot that Rudert kicked away with her right leg pad extended.
- With five minutes of the extra session played, Gianna Bensaia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) drove along the right end line and her blocked shot led to a penalty corner.
- Bensaia corralled the insert at the top of the circle, quickly advanced diagonally to the right and fired a shot that Benwood stopped, but let to another corner.
- This time the insert went to Ashley Mendonca (Brampton, Ontario), and her low shot toward the right post beat Benwood but Haantjes was in position to clear the ball off the goal line to keep the game scoreless.
- With four minutes remaining in the first OT, Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) collected a loose ball in the middle of the circle, quickly turned a fired a shot that Benwood – who was well off the goal line – blocked away.
- Vermont capitalized on the first scoring chance of the second extra session to end the game.
