DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire men's hockey single-game tickets go on sale Sept. 1 for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The all-new fan experience will include new concessions, ways to purchase tickets, promotions and more!
Tickets can now be purchased online, by visiting the Whittemore Center Box Office or by calling (603) 862-4000 during regular office hours. The box office is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and, for the first time, will open at 10 a.m. on weekend gamedays. The season will also feature an entertaining promotional calendar with unique and fun promotions, student and fan giveaways and much more that will be announced at a later date.
"We are proud to announce an all-new UNH men's hockey experience for our fans," said associate athletic director for external affairs, Jon Danos. "We have been looking very hard at ways in which we can increase value – for our most loyal season ticket holders to our more casual fans - and we've initiated a deeper dialogue with them that will help us define what that is. Our main goal is to make the overall experience more customer-centric by looking at elements of convenience, affordability, and excitement. We're really energized about this commitment."
The Wildcats host the University of New Brunswick for an exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. and open the regular season the following Saturday, Oct. 8 at home against Bentley University at 7 p.m.
Fans will get to experience a completely new concessions experience with a commitment placed on variety and affordability for families. The concessions will be produced by UNH Conferences and Catering, the same concessionaire that offers the fresh and exciting food at the brand new Wildcat Stadium. A new kids menu featuring a $2.50 hot dog highlights the value-added items.
"It's going to be a great experience for all of our fans," said head men's hockey coach Dick Umile. "The athletic department has put a tremendous amount of work into enhancing gamedays for our fans and we are excited for the season to come."
Also new for fans this season is the experience in which fans can purchase tickets online. UNH Athletics has partnered with Glitnir Ticketing to create a fan friendly ticketing system that will provide fans with an easier, more affordable online purchasing experience directly through UNHWildcats.com. Ticket processing fees have also been reduced by more than 50 percent while aiming to make the experience simplified and family friendly. Athletics is offering special pricing for youth (age 12 and under), active and retired military with a military ID, senior citizens (age 65 and older) and UNH faculty and staff (Durham, Manchester, UNH Law).
