DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire men's basketball assistant coach Marc Kuntz has accepted a head coaching position at Post University for the 2016-17 season.
Kuntz joined the Wildcats' staff in October of 2012 after a seven-year run at UMass Lowell. Kuntz was a key cog in UNH's rise in the basketball ranks with his ability to recruit. Many of the team's nine Texas players who have come and gone the last four years were recruited by Kuntz and played major roles in the team's 20-win season in 2015-16 and 39 wins the past two seasons, both program firsts.
"We're obviously very happy for Marc, and his family, to have the opportunity to become the head basketball coach at Post University," said head coach Bill Herrion. "It's always an assistant coach's goal, when they get into this profession, to be a head coach and run their own program. Marc has spent many years in the business and has prepared himself for this opportunity. We as a staff and program want to thank him for his contributions the last four years to UNH Basketball. He's had a great impact on our recruiting and the success we have had the last few years. We wish him the best of luck moving forward."
Post University, a division II program, finished 14-13 overall last season and 10-9 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and fell in the first round of the CACC.
