Wildcats Fall in Heartbreaker in AE Quarterfinals, 2-1, to Hartford

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team felly by a score of 2-1 to the University of Hartford in the America East Quarterfinals, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Bremner Field. The Wildcats will wait until Monday, Nov. 14 for the NCAA Men's Soccer Selection Show to know if they advanced to the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid.

-First Half-
Arling got the Wildcats on the board first in the 19th minute of play with his 15th goal of the season. He received a pass in from Gleditsch, who was on the left side of the box. Arling settled the pass and ripped it into the net.
Hartford leveled the score in the 23rd minute with a goal by Swift. Jonasson redirected the ball in the box that Swift gained control of in the box. He made a move and shot it into the goal.
--Second Half—
In the 87th minute of play, Stech scored what would prove to be the game winner to put the Hawks up, 2-1. Balzan dribbled the ball and then sent a pass into the box. His pass found Stech who then found the back of the net for the lead.
The Wildcats upped the tempo and applied pressure in the final minutes, however the Hawks were able to hold on and advance to the semifinals of the AE Tournament.
