- Fans that wear New England Patriots gear to Saturday's game have the chance to win a prize!
- The Wildcats open the regular season with one game against Bentley University on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at home.
- Saturday's meeting will be the second all-time between the two schools. UNH topped Bentley 5-4 at home on Nov. 28, 2015 in the first meeting.
- The Wildcats are coming off a 3-1 exhibition win over the University of New Brunswick on Sunday, Oct. 2.
- Freshman Liam Blackburn recorded a goal and an assist while classmate Brendan van Riemsdyk had a pair of assists.
- Ara Nazarian lit the lamp as did Shane Eiserman.
- Adam Clark started in net and made saves on all 13 shots he faced in 30:07 of play. It was his first action since Oct. 31, 2015 at Merrimack.
- Danny Tirone made saves on 11 of 12 shots in 29:48 of play.
- Bentley finished the 2015-16 season with a record of 14-20-6 overall and 9-13-6 in Atlantic Hockey play.
- The Falcons return leading scorer Max French, who had 47 points on 23 goals and 24 assists last season and has 50 goals and 54 assists in his career.
- The Wildcats travel to New York next weekend when they play St. Lawrence University on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. and Clarkson University on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.

Heading to the Big Apple: The Wildcats will travel to Madison Square Garden to play in New York City for the first time in program history. They will play Cornell on Nov. 26 at 8:00 PM.
Frozen Fenway: For the first time since Jan. 7, 2012, UNH will play an outdoor game when they take on Northeastern at Fenway Park on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 PM.
Two Away: Head coach Dick Umile is just two wins away from 350 in Hockey East play. He currently has a record of 348-188-88. He has the most wins among active HE coaches and is second all-time to Jack Parker (BU; 421).
Longevity: Umile is the third longest tenured coach at their current institution as he is entering his 27th season with the 'Cats. Red Berenson (Michigan) is going into his 33rd season while Rick Gotkin (Mercyhurst) is going into his 29th season.
Apple Picking: Senior forward Tyler Kelleher is tied for first in the nation in assists (71) among returning players (Mike Vecchione - Union). He is tied for third in the country in active points leaders (104) and is first in Hockey East.
'C' is for Captain, and Cleland: Senior blueliner Matias Cleland was elected captain by his teammates and is the first Wildcat to be a lone captain with no assistants since James Richomd in 1986-87.
Welcome to Wildcat Country: UNH added eight freshmen in the off-season: Liam Blackburn (F), Justin Fregona (F), Patrick Grasso (F), Joe Lazzaro (G), Nick Nonis (D), Joe Sacco (F), Brendan van Riemsdyk (F), and Anthony Wyse (D).
Wildcat Blue Genes: The incoming freshman class has many NHL ties. Brendan van Riemsdyk is the youngest brother of James van Riemsdyk ('09) and Trevor van Riemsdyk ('14), both of whom play in the NHL. Joe Sacco is the son of Boston Bruins assistant coach Joe Sacco, who played 738 games in the NHL. Patrick Grasso is the nephew of Joe Mullen, who won an NCAA National Championship with Boston College ('78) and three Stanley Cups. He is currently an assistant caoch with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Wildcats Through and Through: Head coach Dick Umile ('72) and associate head coaches Glenn Stewart ('94) and Mike Souza ('00) are all graduates and former players of UNH. Assistant AD for Hockey Operations Colin Shank ('05) is also a graduate of UNH.
Three Coaches, 402 Points: Umile, Stewart and Souza are each members of the Century Club for the men's hockey program. Souza tallied 156 points (66g, 90a), Umile 144 points (60g, 84a) and Stewart notched 102 points (51g, 51a).
Looking Ahead: The NCAA announced on Oct. 2 that UNH in conjunction with the Verizon Wireless Arena (Manchester, N.H.) will host the 2017 NCAA Men's Hockey Division I Northeast Regional. It will be the seventh regional hosted by the two and UNH has played in five of six of the previous tournaments.
