The Series : UNH vs. Vermont
- New Hampshire has a 30-10-2 lifetime record against Vermont. Last year, the road team won all three games with UNH recording a 4-0 win Oct. 30 at Gutterson Fieldhouse and the Catamounts sweeping February's two-game series at the Whittemore Center (2-1, 3-2).
- UNH has a 17-6-0 home record in the series, but UVM holds the 4-1-0 edge the past five games at the Whittemore Center.
- The series began February 1978 and UNH won the first 21 meetings before Vermont won 2-1 in February 2010. Including that UVM win, the Catamounts have a 10-9-2 edge the past 21 matchups.

- UNH enters the weekend with a 1-7-0 overall record that includes 1-4-0 at home and 1-2-0 in Hockey East; that includes 1-1-0 in league home games.
- The Wildcats were swept by No. 8 Clarkson University in last weekend's two-game home series; the final score was 3-1 both Saturday and Sunday.
- New Hampshire is averaging 1.62 goals and 24.0 shots per game while yielding 3.38 goals and 34.6 shots per game. On special teams, the 'Cats are .086 on the power play and .927 on the penalty kill (No. 6 in the nation); UNH's PK was a perfect 12-for-12 in last weekend's series vs. Clarkson.

- Seven of UNH's eight games have been against a nationally-ranked team.

Cashin' In
- Sophomore goalie Hilary Cashin (Fredericton, New Brunswick) made a career-high 41 saves in last Sunday's 3-1 loss to eighth-ranked Clarkson. She stopped all 21 shots in the third period as well as 14 of 16 in the first period. The Golden Knights were scoreless in seven power play opportunities.

- UNH's goaltenders are averaging 34.6 saves per game with a breakdown of Kyra Smith (Littleton, Colo.) at 38.3 and Hilary Cashin at 30.3.
- The opponents have recorded 40-plus shots three times.
It's A Point Streak
- Senior forward and captain Jonna Curtis (Elk River, Minn.) carries a three-game point streak into Friday's game. The streak began with a personal-best four-goal effort against Merrimack College (Oct. 15) and continued last weekend with an assist (Oct. 22) and goal (Oct. 23) vs. Clarkson.
Turning It Up
- Freshman forward Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) has recorded a point three of the last four games. She tallied her first career point with an assist Oct. 14 vs. No. 5 Boston College, then recorded her first career multiple-assist and multiple-point effort the next game vs. Merrimack with a goal and two assists for three points. Turner earned an assist in the most recent game (Sunday vs. Clarkson).
- Turner is the top 'Cat in the faceoff circle at 48.8% (62 of 127).
The Puck Stops Here
- Sophomore goaltenders Kyra Smith and Hilary Cashin have alternated starts with both getting four starts through eight games.
- Smith has made at least 32 saves every game this season, and that includes a career-high 38 saves in the season-opening 4-2 loss at No 8 Colgate and 36 saves at No. 9 Boston University. In four games, she has a 3.57 GAA and .908 save percentage.
- Cashin, who saw limited action in three games last season, has a 2.53 GAA and .917 save percentage. In addition to her career-high 41 saves last Sunday vs. Clarkson, she made 32 saves (on 35 shots) in her first game of the season, a 3-1 loss at eighth-ranked Colgate (Oct. 2).

Scoring Leaders
- Jonna Curtis leads the team in goals (five), power-play goals (two), points (eight), shots (27) and shooting percentage (.185).
- Carlee Turner is atop the assist leaderboard (four) and is second in points (five).

- Sophomore Jenna Rheault (Deering, N.H.) has blocked a team-high 16 shots, followed closely by junior Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) with 15.

Scouting the Catamounts
- The University of Vermont (Burlington, Vt.) travels to Durham with a 2-3-1 overall record that includes 1-0-0 in Hockey East and 1-2-1 on the road; Friday's matchup will be the Catamounts' first league road game.
- UVM is on a two-game losing streak after falling short to nationally-ranked Saint Lawrence in last weekend's home-and-home series. UVM lost 3-1 on the road and 2-1 at home.
- Vermont is winless the past four games (0-3-1) after opening the season with wins at Union College and vs. Boston University.
- Freshman Eve-Audrey Picard leads the Catamounts with four goals and six points.
