WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES SECOND AT AMERICA EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS

BOSTON – Senior Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) placed sixth overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the America East Championships on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.
The Wildcats recorded 63 points to trail only Stony Brook University with 24 points.
Fitzpatrick finished the five-kilometer course in a time of 17 minutes, 36.19 seconds.
Classmate Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Mass.) supported Fitzpatrick with a 10th-place finish in 17:54.51.
Senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) and graduate student Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 13th and 15th, respectively, in times of 18:01.66 and 18:04.46.
Freshman Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) placed 19th in a time of 18:20.75.
Junior Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) and senior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) finished 33rd and 37th, respectively, in times of 18:49.71 and 18:52.72.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Nov. 13 at the NCAA East Regional at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Conn.
