Ella Guilfoil was named a Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 20. The sophomore won two individual events and was runner-up in another to highlight the UNH swimming and diving team's results at the Bruno Invitational, which was held Nov. 17-19 at Brown University's Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Ella won Saturday's 400 individual medley with an NCAA B cut time of 4 minutes, 15.33 seconds to shave 9.1 seconds off her previous best time and record the fourth-fastest mark in program history.
That completed the IM sweep for Ella, who won the 200 IM on Friday with a personal-best time of 2:00.85 that ranks fifth best in program history. She established another personal best in the 200 backstroke Sunday with a second-place time of 1:58.77, which is fourth on UNH's all-time leaderboard.
Ella was also part of UNH's third-place finish in both the 200 free and 800 free relays, as well as fourth place in the 400 free relay, fifth place in the 400 medley relay and sixth place in the 200 medley relay. Including the relays, Ella helped the Wildcats earn 208 points.
New Hampshire (3-0) returns to action Dec. 9 (12 p.m.) at Northeastern University.
