BEFORE UNH: Desmarais has competed in the Junior Olympic New Hampshire USA Gymnastics State Championships every year since 2009. She came in second place all around her first year, qualified her freshman season, came in second place all around 2011-2012, first place all around and on all four events 2012-2013, and was second place all around and first place on vault and floor exercises her senior year. During her 2009-2010 season, Desmarais also qualified for Junior Olympic USA Gymnastics Regional Championships, finishing sixth place in the all around. 2011-2012 was the next year she qualified for Junior Olympic USA Gymnastics Regional Championships. The following season, she came in third place all around, vault and balance beam. Her senior year competing at the Regional Championships, Desmarais finished second place all around and first place on vault. Her junior and senior years, she also competed at the Junior Olympic USA Gymnastics Eastern National Championships, coming in 16th place all around and eighth place on vault during 2012-2013 season, and 16th place all around and seventh place on balance beam during her 2013-2014 season.
