Vicky Tinghitella joined the UNH field hockey program as an assistant coach in June 2026. She was a four-year letterwinner at Kent State University before playing one year at Maine as a grad student and then remaining with the Black Bears as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.
Â
The native of Lujan, Buenos Aires (Argentina) played all 69 games with 32 starts and received All-MAC Academic Honors three times at Kent State spanning the 2020-23 seasons. Tinghitella recorded one goal and seven assists for a total of nine points for the Flashes, who had a 26-7 record (.788 win percentage) in the MAC with a pair of first-place finishes.
Â
Tinghitella started 12 of 19 games as a senior captain to help lead the team to the 2023 MAC championship game. Kent State had a 6-1 conference record in back-to-back seasons (2021 and 2022). The midfielder led the Flashes to an 11-3 overall record that included 9-3 in the MAC in the 2020-21 season.
Â
In a grad year at Maine, Tinghitella started all 20 games and recorded 14 points on four goals and six assists. Those numbers ranked second on the team in assists and fourth in both goals and points. Tinghitella led the 2024 Black Bears to 11 wins and the America East semifinals.
Â
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join UNH and be part of this program,” Tinghitella said. “From the moment I connected with the staff, I felt welcomed and knew it was a place where I could grow and contribute. I'm excited to get to work, build meaningful relationships with the student-athletes, and help create something special together."
Â
As an assistant coach in 2025, she helped guide Maine to the conference semifinals. Tinghitella’s responsibilities included assistance with planning and coaching during practices and games, leading warm-ups, cool-downs and recovery routines, working with goalkeepers and supporting both penalty corner units.
Â
Tinghitella graduated from Kent State with a B.S. in Sports Medicine in 2024 and received an M.Ed. in Kinesiology & Physical Education from Maine in 2026.
Â
She also received a Diplomatura en Hockey Femenino (field hockey coaching diploma) from Asociacion Natatio Argentina in 2025.
