DURHAM, N.H. — Former University of New Hampshire student-athlete Luci Anderson was named to the United States' 2026 Olympic Biathlon team on Tuesday (Jan. 6), as announced by the U.S. Biathlon International Competition Committee (ICC). Anderson punched her ticket to Italy, where the 2026 games will be held, following a series of U.S.-hosted time trials in Antholz, Italy.
"I am so excited to have qualified for the Olympic team and looking forward to throwing down some good races in February," said Anderson. "I would not be here without the love and support from my family, team and financial support from Team Birkie, my love of racing from my teammates and coaches at UNH, and the whole Minnesota ski community!"
Anderson, originally a Nordic athlete in her time with the Wildcats, made the switch to Biathlon in 2024, where she has since found success, competing in the IBU Cup in November 2024 before making her first World Cup start in December 2024 and being named to the World Championship team in February 2025.
In her time with the Wildcats, Anderson served as a two-time captain of the Nordic ski team and was named to the All-East First Team three times across her five years in Durham, earning the honor in the 2021, 2023, and 2024 seasons. Additionally, Anderson finished her collegiate career with nine podium appearances, including six first place finishes, and ranked third overall among skiers in the East in her graduate student season in 2024.
Anderson and the rest of Team USA begin the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy on Feb. 4, with biathlon competition set to begin on Feb. 8.
