Defending AE Champ Swim & Dive Picked Preseason #1 for 2025-26

Wildcats open season at #2 Vermont on Oct. 18 (1 p.m.)
DURHAM, N.H. – The defending America East champion UNH swimming & diving team has been selected No. 1 in the preseason coaches' poll, announced Wednesday. The Wildcats open the 2025-26 season at AE preseason No. 2 Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 18 (1pm) before playing host to Central Connecticut State over Family Weekend on Friday, Oct. 24 (5pm) and Saturday, Oct. 25 (10am) at Swasey Pool.

"It's always nice to hear that people think you're the team to beat, but we never take anything for granted or get complacent," said UNH head coach Josh Willman. "Every year, we attack the season with the same objectives – fast swimming and great diving."
In 2025, the Wildcats captured the America East Championship for the fifth time in the last six years. The Wildcats have a league-record 12 championships (1998, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025). UNH also went undefeated with a 7-0-1 record, marking the second time in program history (2005) the 'Cats recorded an undefeated season.
Following the Family Weekend meet against CCSU, the Wildcats have two more home meets: Monday, Jan. 12 (1 p.m. vs Rhode Island) and Saturday, Jan. 17 (1 p.m. vs UConn).
