Mahoney Named Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year

BOSTON – Junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) was named the 2024-25 America East Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year. This is the sixth straight season a member of the UNH swimming and diving team has won this honor.
Mahoney, who has a 3.95 GPA as a Health Management & Policy major, was named to the America East All-Academic team for the second straight season.
At the America East Championships, Mahoney won gold in the 100 free and bronze in the 50 free and 200 free, while she was a key member of both free relay wins as the Wildcats took gold in the 400 and 800 free. She was named the America East Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 14. She also competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship. Mahoney has earned All-America East accolades 14 times during her career.
This is a conference-best 13th time a Wildcat has been named the America East Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year. The previous UNH winners are Denise Leckenby (1996 & 1998), Kristin Latourelle (1999), Lauren McCandless (2012 & 2014), Katie Mann (2013 & 2015), Anna Metzler (2020, 2021 & 2022), Madison Linstedt (2023), and Ella Guilfoil (2024).
This season, the Wildcats won the America East Championship for the fifth time in the last six years. The Wildcats have a league-record 12 championships (1998, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025). UNH also went undefeated with a 7-0-1 record marking the second time in program history the 'Cats have a recorded an undefeated season. The 2005 team went 9-0-0 and won the America East Championship.
