Abaka-Amuah, Maher Earn Wins on Day 1 of Black and Gold Invitational

RESULTS
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Yoofi Abaka-Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team won the discus to lead the Wildcats at the Black and Gold Invitational on Friday.
Abaka-Amuah won with a toss of 48.66m. He also secured second place in the hammer throw (57.40m).
Junior Kyran Maher (Andover, Mass.) added another victory for the Wildcats, finishing first in the pole vault with a jump of 4.61m.
Junior Jack Washam (Nashua, N.H.) also scored with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw (54.41m).
As a team, the men are in first place out of 10 teams with 31 points.
UNH will return to action tomorrow to conclude the Black and Gold Invitational.
