OCALA, Fla. – Freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, Ontario) of the University of New Hampshire swimming & diving team captured first place in the 500 freestyle at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship.

Hart touched the wall in 4:43.78, narrowly edging out Ohio State's Lucy Malys by just 0.01 seconds, while Kentucky's Madi McGlothen finished third.

Junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) also had a strong performance today, placing seventh in the 50 freestyle with a personal best time of 22.93 seconds.

The CSCAA National Invitational Championship continues tomorrow. Hart will race in the 200 freestyle, sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.) will compete in the 100 butterfly, and freshman Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.) will swim in the 100 backstroke.

On Saturday, Hart is set to compete in the 1650 freestyle, Labno in the 200 backstroke, Mahoney in the 100 freestyle, and Mahon in the 200 butterfly. The Wildcats will also team up for the 400 freestyle relay to close out the meet.
