"We are thrilled to welcome Will and his family to our family," UNH third-year head coach Nathan Davis said. "Being engaged in the community is very important to our program. This will be a great experience for all of us."
Gustafson is a 5-foot, 13-year old attending eighth grade in Amesbury Middle School who has been diagnosed with spina bifida and type 1 diabetic. He will participate in numerous activities with the UNH men's basketball team, including games and practices, in the next two years.
"Team IMPACT is excited to see Will join the Wildcats," said Emma Simches, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work with UNH, their athletic department, and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multi-year program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment and resilience.
The 2025-26 UNH men's basketball team opens the season with Nov. 3 (7pm) at Clemson University. The Wildcats' home opener is Nov. 6 (6pm) against Curry College. Season tickets and single-game tickets are on sale now at unhwildcats.com/tickets.
