Mahoney and Hart Earn America East Weekly Awards

BOSTON – Junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Gove, Ill.) and freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, ON, Canada) of the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team were named the America East Female Swimmer of the Week and America East Female Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
This is Mahoney's second weekly honor of her career and Hart's fourth.
Mahoney delivered a standout performance in Sunday's 186-114 victory over URI, securing four wins to lead the Wildcats.
She dominated the sprints, winning the 50 freestyle in 23.87 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 53.28 seconds, while contributing to victories in both relays.
In the 200-yard medley relay, Mahoney anchored with the fastest split of the race, clocking in at 23.38 seconds to help UNH finish first in 1:46.87. She also led off the 200-yard freestyle relay with a race-best split of 24.31 seconds as the Wildcats clocked in at 1:39.11 for the win.
Hart added to her remarkable freshman campaign with two individual victories.
She won the 200 freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:52.57, which ranks as the fifth-fastest in the conference this season. She also captured the 500 freestyle in 4:59.68, remaining undefeated in the event this year.
The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Jan. 17 with a road meet at UConn.
