Wildcats to Host EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire ski team is gearing up for the 2025 season, which will feature a series of EISA carnivals across New England. This year, UNH will proudly host the EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals for the first time since 2022.
"To be able to have all of the schools come to our home courses and race for our Regional championship is special and exciting as it is the last chance for athletes to qualify for NCAA's," Director of Skiing Shane MacDowell said.

The Wildcats begin the season at the Bates Carnival on Jan. 10-11 with alpine events at Sunday River and Nordic at Rumford Nordic Center.
In the second week, the 'Cats will travel to Whiteface Mountain (alpine) and Mt. Van Hoevenberg (Nordic) for the St. Lawrence Carnival on Jan. 16-18.
Heading into the third week, UNH will compete at Sleepy Hollow (Nordic) and Smugglers Notch (alpine) for the St. Michael's Carnival on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
The Dartmouth Carnival (Feb. 7-8) will take place at Dartmouth Skiway (alpine) and Oak Hill (Nordic), followed by the Middlebury Carnival (Feb. 15-16) at Rikert Nordic Center (Nordic) and Middlebury Snowbowl (alpine).
A major highlight of the season will be the Wildcats hosting the 2025 EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals at the UNH Carnival on Feb. 21-22. This prestigious event will be held at nearby Jackson Nordic Center for Nordic events and Cannon Mountain for alpine competitions. It marks a significant milestone for the program as the Wildcats welcome the top collegiate skiers from the East. Last year, the men's alpine team claimed victory in the slalom with 113 points, and the women's Nordic team won the 20K classic. Overall, the Wildcats secured a fourth-place team finish.
The 2025 NCAA Skiing Championships are scheduled for Mar. 5-8, with alpine events at the Dartmouth Skiway and Nordic competition at Oak Hill. Dartmouth College will host the event. In 2024, UNH finished eighth overall out of 23 teams with 192 points, marking the program's fourth consecutive top-10 finish. Isac Hedström (Are, Sweden) received First Team All-American recognition with his fourth-place finish in the giant slalom.
