Men’s Soccer Signs Cabot McLaren

New Hampshire native played for Seacoast United and Kimball Union Academy
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of freshman forward Cabot McLaren (Sugar Hill, N.H.).
"Cabot comes to us from Seacoast United and Kimball Union Academy," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "He is a forward who loves to be in and around the box, has a knack for scoring goals and has the energy to attack space. We love his tools and we love his growth potential. We're happy he wanted to stay with us in New Hampshire and we're excited to see his growth during his time in Durham."
McLaren was a member of Seacoast United from 2018-24 as he posted 39 goals and six assists for 84 points over 41 games from 2022-24. During the Spring of 2024, McLaren recorded 16 goals and two assists for 34 points over 17 games. He also played for Black Rock FC in the USL2 in 2024, appearing in 11 games with two goals.
McLaren played four seasons of varsity soccer at Kimball Union Academy where he was a team captain in 2023-24. He tallied 32 goals and 40 assists for 104 points over 62 career games. As a senior he posted 17 goals and 14 assists for 48 points. McLaren was named the 2023-24 NEPSAC Player of the Year and earned All-NEPSAC accolades, while he won the New England Soccer Journal PREP School Player of the Year award. Team won the 2023-24 NEPSAC Championship and were the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Lakes Region Champions.
McLaren graduated from Kimball Union Academy in 2024.

The Wildcats open the season at Boston University on Thursday, Aug. 22, followed by the home opener at Wildcat Stadium versus Western Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.
