DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the addition of junior forward Michael Tsicoulias (Newton, Mass.) to the 2024 roster. Tsicoulias, who is a transfer from the University of Virginia, has joined the team this spring.
"Michael comes to us from the University of Virginia, and is a New England Revolution product from Newton," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "We are always trying to identify high-character, high impact, student-athletes from the New England area and we think Michael is just that. He is dynamic on the ball, with an ability to score goals and create for others. He has a strong drive to make an impact on the field and will help push the culture forward within the locker room. We are thrilled to welcome him to Durham this spring."
Tsicoulias played three seasons at Virginia appearing in 38 games. He totaled three goals and one assist for seven points. He also was strong in the classroom as he earned ACC All-Academic Team accolades twice (2022, 2023) and was named to the 2022-23 ACC Honor Roll.
Before UVA, Tsicoulias played club soccer for the New England Revolution for five years. He was a member of New England Revolution II of USL 1 in 2021. He graduated from Newton North High School.
The Wildcats concluded the 2023 season with a 13-3-4 record and advanced to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history.
