Four Members of Women’s Skiing Named to Academic All-District Team

Luci Anderson, Hattie Barker, Tilde Kandell and Lea Stabaek Wenaas earn the honor.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four members of the 2023-24 University of New Hampshire women's skiing team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team. Graduate student captain Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.), sophomore Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.), sophomore Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) and senior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) earned the honor.
Anderson, who earns this accolade for the second straight season, posted a 3.75 GPA as a Molecular & Cell Biotechnology major. This season, she placed ninth in the freestyle at the NCAA Championships garnering Second Team All-America honors. Anderson was also named to the First Team All-East.
Barker has a 3.93 GPA as a Human Development & Family Studies major. She competed at the NCAA Championships and was named to the All-East Second Team. Barker also earned her first career podium as was second in the 15K classic at the Dartmouth Carnival.
Kandell has a 3.92 GPA as an Analytical Economics major. She led the women's Alpine team at the NCAA Championships placing 19th in the slalom and 23rd in the giant slalom. Kandell was fourth in the slalom and fifth in the giant slalom at the Williams Carnival.
Stabaek Wenaas, who was selected for this recognition for the second straight year, recorded a 3.94 GPA as a Finance major. This season, she competed at the NCAA Championships, while she was also named the EISA Skier of the Week for placing second in the 10K classic and winning the 5K skate relay at the Williams Carnival.
The Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for combined performance in athletics and the classroom.
The 12 sports included on the women's at-large ballot are: beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo.
