UNH Places Eighth at NCAA Championships

Roger Anderson led the ‘Cats with a 15th-place finish in the 20K classic.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) placed 15th in the 20K classic on Saturday at Howelsen Hill to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team to conclude the NCAA Championships. UNH placed eighth overall in the standings out of 23 teams with 192 points.

RESULTS
The women's Nordic team totaled 23 points to place eighth in the 20K classic. Senior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) led the team at 16th (1:05:06.5) earning 15 points. Graduate student captain Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) finished 24th (1:07:15.5) gaining seven points. Sophomore Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) picked up one point as she was 30th (1:08:10.3).
On the men's side, the Wildcats placed ninth with 20 points as Anderson tallied 16 points for placing 15th (58:10.0). Junior Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.) was 27th (1:00:25.5) securing four points.
Two Wildcats earned All-America accolades during the four-day NCAA Championships. Sophomore Isac Hedström (Are, Sweden) garnered First Team All-America honors for placing fourth in the giant slalom and Luci Anderson posted Second Team honors for finishing ninth in the 7.5K freestyle.
