Three Wildcats Named Hockey East Third Team All-Stars

AMESBURY, Mass. – Grad student defender Rae Breton (Brighton, Ontario), junior forward Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) and freshman goaltender Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team were all named 2023-24 Third Team All-Stars by Hockey East on Friday.
Juodikis is a repeat selection as a Third Team All-Star from last season. Blair, the first UNH freshman named a Hockey East All-Star since 2013, was also named to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team by the league on Tuesday.
Third-seeded New Hampshire begins postseason play with a Hockey East quarterfinal game March 2 against the University of Vermont. Breton, who was named the Army ROTC Defender of the Week four times and the Defender of the Month for September/October, ranks No. 3 in the nation with a league-leading 83 blocks. That averages to 2.44 blocks per game. In 27 Hockey East games, Breton was credited with 68 blocks for an average of 2.52 per game.
Breton has blocked a shot in 29 of 34 games and recorded multiple blocks in a game 23 times, including a high of nine at Maine (Oct. 13). She's recorded 5+ blocks four other times: six vs. Merrimack (Feb. 10) and vs. Providence (Nov. 4); and five both at Holy Cross (Feb. 15) and vs. Quinnipiac (Oct. 7).
Breton is tied for fourth on the team in assists (10) and has also scored a goal – the game-winning tally Oct. 13 at Maine – for a total of 11 points. Her other stats include a plus/minus rating of +6. Among Breton's season highlights was the Feb. 15 game at Holy Cross when she finished with two assists, five blocks and a +3 rating.

Juodikis is the top 'Cat in goals (15), power-play goals (five), points (25) and shots (90). The captain also ranks second in shooting percentage (.167) and she has scored a pair of game-winning goals. On the Hockey East leaderboard, she is tied for fourth in goals tied for 10th in points.
Juodikis enters the Hockey East tournament on a season-best four-game point streak with four goals and two assists for a total of six points – as well as a +4 rating – in that span. She has tallied a point in 16 of 34 games with eight multiple-point efforts, including a high of three points (two goals, one assist) vs. Saint Michael's. In November, Juodikis recorded two points three consecutive games.
She scored a goal in 11 games with four two-goal efforts, including two of the last four games. Juodikis netted both of her game-winning goals against Hockey East foes – Nov. 10 at Boston U. and Jan. 27 vs. Maine. Her other highlights included matching her career high of two assists Nov. 11 vs. BU.
Juodikis was named the Hockey East Player of the Week following her five-point opening weekend in which she scored twice against both St. Anselm and Saint Michael's.

Blair is a four-time Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honoree and also received a Player of the Week award from Hockey East in the 2023-24 season.
Blair is on the verge of breaking the UNH single-season saves record with a total of 874 through the regular season. The program benchmark of 886 was established by then-freshman Ava Boutilier in 2018. Blair has made 30+ saves in a game 11 times this season, including a high of 40 at Providence College on Nov. 3.
On the Hockey East leaderboard, Blair ranks second in both wins (17) and minutes (2012:06), as well as third in saves and tied for third in shutouts (four).
Blair is one of only three goalies who played all 27 league games. In Hockey East-only statistics, she tied for the lead in wins (14) and ranked third in both saves (709) and minutes (1594:28).
Blair recorded three consecutive shutouts against Harvard University, Holy Cross and Vermont as part of a total shutout streak of 193 minutes, 1 second that spanned Nov. 11 to Dec. 8.
