O'Hern Breaks School Record &'Cats Post Strong Outing at URI Coaches Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. – The UNH men's track and field team competed in the URI Coaches Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10. Two Wildcats also headed to the Track at New Balance to compete in day one of the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.

Graduate student Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) set a school record in the men's indoor mile with a time of 4:02.36, this record stood for over 34 years!
Junior Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) recorded a new PR in the Mile race with 4:04.83.
This marks the first time two Wildcats have ever run under 4:05 in the mile at the same meet!

URI Coaches Invitational Event Notebook

Sophomore Liam McGovern (North Kingstown R.I) threw for second and recorded a new PR in the men's weight throw with a distance of 18.27m
Junior Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine.) ran for a PR of 2:28.76 placing first in the men's 1000m run.
Senior Andrew Kelly (Portsmouth, N.H.) recorded a new PR in the triple jump with a distance of 13.63m.

Next Up

The 'Cats will return to action on Feb 19-20 where they will be competing in the America East Championships.
