Women’s Hockey Drops Game to #9 UConn

DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Addy Finn (Stillwater, Minn.) scored her first collegiate goal, but the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team fell to No. 9 UConn 5-1 on Friday night at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
UNH falls to 1-1-1 (0-1-0 Hockey East) and UConn improves to 2-3-0 (1-0-0 Hockey East).

FIRST PERIOD
- The Huskies made it 1-0 in the first period with a one timer from Jada Habisch at 16:26 at the top of the crease with a pass from Claire Murdoch from behind the net.
- UConn generated a 11-5 shot advantage in the first period.
- Sophomore goalie Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made 10 saves.
SECOND PERIOD
- UConn outshot UNH 18-6, making the score 5-0 after the second period.
- The Huskies made the contest 2-0 at 1:16 with a shot from Jade Lore that was tipped into the net by Brooke Campbell.
- At 5:52, a shot from Jada Habisch, who brought the puck up the ice and took a face-off dot shot, saved by Blair, that rebounded right to Claire Murdoch who scored.
- The Huskies' fourth goal at 13:20 came from a two-on-one with an assist from Ashley Allard and a goal by Kyla Josifovic.
- Sophomore goalie Noemi Martinez (Glen Ridge, N.J.) came in for relief after the fourth goal for Blair.
- UConn's fifth goal came at 18:40 with Campbell passing the puck to the middle to Murdoch who sent it over to Habisch who scored from the top glove side of the crease.
THIRD PERIOD
- New Hampshire recorded a 16-6 shot advantage in the third period.
- Finn recorded her first collegiate goal at 19:52 off a rebound from a shot from freshman forward Charlie Rauch (Ramsey, N.J.).
- Martinez saved 11 out of 11 shots during the third period.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- Connecticut finished with a 41-21 shot advantage.
- UNH went 0-1 on the power play and UConn went 0-2.
- Megan Warrener made 20 saves to earn the win for the Huskies.
