Jasmine Lyons Named to Team Canada for U23 World Ski Championships

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire senior and four-time All-American Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) has been named to Team Canada for the 2024 U23 World Ski Championships from Feb. 5-11 in Planica, Slovenia.
Lyons, who competed for Team Canada at the 2023 FIS World Championships also held in Planica, is a two-time First Team All-American and a two-time Second Team All-American for the Wildcats. She earned First Team All-America accolades with a second-place finish in the 5K freestyle in 2023 and a third-place finish in the 15K freestyle in 2022, while she received Second Team All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the 20K classic in 2023 and an eighth-place finish in the 5K classic in 2022.
Lyons, who is a captain of the Nordic team, has been named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team three times, the Academic All-District Team twice and was a 2023 inductee into the National College Athlete Honor Society. Â Â Â Â Â
The Wildcats start the 2024 season at the Vermont Carnival on Jan. 12-13, with Nordic events at Craftsbury. The 1.3K classic is set for Friday at 10 a.m., while the 10K skate starts on Saturday at 10 a.m.
